File under “Lamest. Publicity. Stunts. Ever.”
A federal lawsuit was filed this week in the Southern District of Florida, alleging violation of the Trademark Protection Act (source). I would just like to refer the filing attorney, Juan Abogado, to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11.

I have reviewed the Florida Bar records of attorneys admitted to practice in the state of Florida. Apparently, Pluto the Dog is not admitted in Florida. I need to do a bit more research to make sure that he is not admitted elsewhere and was allowed to appear in this case Pro Hac Vice. If that were the case though, who is the sponsoring attorney – Bugs Bunny?

I saw that filing via my Justia RSS “Recent filings” feed. I was intrigued so I downloaded the complaint. I think it has to be a mistake – like the attorney was learning how to use CM/ECF or something. There are already summary judgment motions on the docket. Gotta be a fluke.
(The ABA Journal link isn’t working, so I don’t know if the mystery has already been solved.)

@Kevin,
The issue with our source link appears to be with the ABA Journal’s website. It works about half the time you click it; the other half, it hangs.
